Bounuses on AA rolls?

So, I was going through the rules today with one of my players and he wondered what happened if you had A in your Skill and A in your Attribute and you got a +1 bonus to your roll.

You can't upgrade your dice any more, so I assume those bonuses (from things like Sniper) only apply to negate negative modifiers?

Anyway, how do you guys handle positive modifiers on an already maxed out skill roll?

I think the ability to negate negative modifiers is powerful in its own right. If you have two characters with A/A dice pools but one has an additional +2 in modifiers and the other doesn't, then a net -3 modifier will reduce one to A/B and the other to B/C. Effectively, the A/A character with specialties and other bonus sources is able to maintain peak performance in adverse conditions. That means his prefight management process should involve finding ways to generate those adverse conditions, stacking the deck in his favor while hampering his adversaries.

Yep, pretty much. I've got an A/A shooter in my campaign. There's essentially never a circumstance where he's rolling 2d12, but this still means he's got a decent chance of a hit at long range, at night, against a moving target... this applies in other skills and areas as well, of course.
