Children with Powers?

In official rules, do children of a zone ghoul and mutant have mutant powers?

If I recall correctly, one of the Zone Companion supplements has a scenario where a captured Zone Ghoul is being used as a breeding stud. It refers to all the members of that tribe as ‘mutants’ so I would say “Yes, offspring would have mutations per ‘official’ rules.

In our game we ruled that:
1) mutants are sterile only amongst themselves (core rules, p234) but are fertile with any other ‘human’ species.
2) mutant animals always produce twins.
3) the species of offspring always matches that of the mother.

So far all of this has only come up in various setting backgrounds and not with the PCs. One of the players actually said “I’ll worry and/or care about Snuu-Snuu the minute I don’t have to worry or care about starvation”. Needless to say, that pretty much ended the session as table talk devolved into talking about Futurama for the next 40+ minutes.

LOL!! Thanks. Your interpretation makes sense, and I was likely about to go down an unnecessary rabbit hole. I'm still having trouble envisioning how the Ark council meeting goes and how PCs spend time on projects and/or in the zone, and also how a party without Stalker can find grub/food etc. I will homebrew it for sure.

As far as a lack of Stalkers goes, our game has combined M:Y0, Genlab Alpha and Mechatron together. Even if a group does not have a Hunter or Stalker, they can still gather/find grub (Hunters & Stalkers can just do it better or more efficiently). Grub could be found as part of an encounter. Even with a Hunter or Stalker, nowhere does it say the GM has to give them the grub (or water or bullets, etc) for free!

For example:
Player: Duffo the Deadly Stalker is using her 3 extra successes to get bullets, grub & a cleaner path thru the zone. How many bullets & rations do I get?

GM: Duffo FINDS a game trail thru lush berry bushes leading into the Zone, along the way she sees a camp of maybe half a dozen humanoids covered in loose, voluminous robes.

Remember: just because a player LOCATES something does NOT mean that they have automatically ACQUIRED that something. <insert standard GM evil grin #3 here>

First session in the books and it went pretty well.

I decided to add some grub and water to my scrap generator (https://perchance.org/myz-scrap) which helps make sense of finding stuff even without a Stalker.

The assembly went well. I created bosses and decided players can "start" as many projects as dev levels allow...it only matters if and when they work in them. The important thing is to note if bosses like, hate or are neutral about any given project. Then, if all PCs are nit in ark i can better determine what projects mkve forward or not per RAW and how boss attitudes might translate to game events.
