Level 2 in this seems very onerous - you have to spend WP for 'free' parries. Non-Warriors taking the Defender talent can get free parries without WP spend. I know theoretically you could parry as many times as you have WP, but how many times are you going to need to parry more than 4 times per round?

Well, he is allowed to parry for his friends that are near him. Perhaps if you have some friends nearby that has better things to do than defend themselves. It can be good sometimes, but my guess is that players who take Path ... Level 2 do that because they want Level 3.
