“Push twice” stress

Mon 13 Jul 2026, 17:18

Not sure if this warrants a whole new post, but one of my players believes that the wording of talents like Cunning that allows pushing twice only does stress damage on the second reroll. I disagree but I do see how its wording implies that.

Yes, my understanding of the revised final wording was also that the push only casues Stress after the 2nd re-roll (in other words: each die roll of 1 only gives 1 Stress, not doubling).

All 1s after a pushed roll will give you stress. If you can push twice you get stress for any 1s you have after your pushes.

So if your initial roll was:
2, 3, 3, 4, 6
You push (you re-roll, 2, 3, 3, 4) and got:
1, 4, 4, 5 added to the 6 from the initial roll.
For normal heroes, this means that one stress and one success, but if you can push again, you re-roll 4, 4, 5 and keep the 1 and the 6 from you former two rolls and get:
1, 3, 6 added to your 1 and 6 that you already got. This means that you in total got two 1s and two 6s, which means that the roll cost two stress but you got two successes so yiii for that.
