Official answer needed for definition of Hatred Fell Ability

Mon 23 Mar 2026, 14:07

In the core rule book, Hatred as it pertains to Orcs of all breeds means all attack rolls are Favoured, while for Trolls, the same Fell ability has text saying "all" rolls. Is it supposed to be distinct abilities applied to each type of adversary, or it's something that should be corrected?

The "all rolls" version only appears once more, in Ruins of the Lost Realm - there are 3 adversaries with the Hatred fell ability, but two specify that it only affects attack rolls. Tales from the Lone-lands, Moria: Through the Doors of Durin, and Hands of the White Wizard each have one adversary with Hatred, and in each of those cases the Fell Ability states it only affects attack rolls.

The Reckless Hate suggestion for Revelation Episodes (CRB p173) suggests adding "Hatred (Subject)" without specifying which version to use, which suggests there's supposed to be a singular definition.

(Personally, I've been using whichever version appears in the individual stat block, but agree that clarification would be helpful!)
