BETA 2 Feedback – Invincible Superhero Roleplaying Core Rulebook

Thu 19 Mar 2026, 17:42

Hello!

Please use this thread to report typos and errors in the new and updated BETA 2 PDF of the Core Rulebook for Invincible Superhero Roleplaying.
Please note that if you reported feedback on the first BETA that has not been addressed in BETA 2, that is most likely due to an intentional choice on our part – we have reviewed all feedback in the main thread on this forum as well as several other sources. This of course does not apply to actual typos – should we have missed one, you're welcome to report it again. :)
Also note that page references and the index at the back are still missing, so there is no need to report on those.
Please provide your feedback no later than March 22.
Thank you for your support!

I have a question regarding the Knockback stunt.

As written, you have have a situation where someone with a high slugfest can really put a lot of damage on a PC/NPC and basically take them out in one attack.

So, for example, Omniman rolls 3 successes. He uses one to hit Invincible for 5 damage (after armour) one for extra damage (5 damage) and one to trigger the Knock back stunt. That would send him 7 zones away, doing another 5 damage to him for each zone, totalling 45 damage.

Is this the intention, that powerful chapters can just do a lot of hurt with the knock back?

It feels, as a player, to be excessive. Maybe after each zone the damage should be decreased somehow?

Thragg is not listed in table of contents and all entries after him (including Crisis Mode) have wrong page number assigned.

Is it possible to add a table explaining what different levels of Reputation mean, like the Resources' one?

The "Massive" in "Massive FLIGHT" in Thragg's sheet is not formatted like in the other entries.

The bookmarks don't discriminate the chapters and certain sections are embedded in others without necessarily belonging to them. For example, the Dramatis Personae chapter starts on page 195, but doesn't appear on the bookmarks. The character profiles, on the other hand, are embedded under "Establishing the City". a section from the previous chapter.

Page 3

Under Powers, the words Boosts and Limits are indented in an extra space compared to the other entries.

Page 61, Sorcery

Sorcery now says it takes a full action to prepare a spell, but the Limitation Ritual Caster still refers to a preparation taking a few minutes instead of a quick action

The PDF bookmarks are not fixed yet, so please disregard those. :)

Omni-Man is one of the most powerful NPCs in the universe, and to achieve the effect you describe, Invincible would need to be positioned so that he passes through a wall at every combat zone he is knocked through, which is not likely even in downtown of a city. That said, we'll have another look at this just in case. :)

I mean, this exact situation happens in a fight in the comics and cartoon, with Omni-Man holding Invincible still while a subway train hits them both. I'd think that each car in that situation is a new zone, and Invincible is hitting the back wall of those zones multiple times. So it's not really a far-fetched question.

Pg 79, supersuit: "keep your current Health when leaving the suit.."
Two periods.

Possible error (might be artistic choice): pg 115, the image of the immortal fighting Allan seems to be upside down. Dont know which way around it is in the comics though.

Pg 262: crisis alerts: teen upstarts get "sometimes global dangers", street defenders don't - Id recommend letting both get the same text, or scrapping global dangers for teen upstarts.

Pg 70, 78, 79: Signature Item, Alternate Form, Supersuit: while the issue of what happens if you transform/lose your item while injured has been resolved, the inverse is still open for debate: if my PC with signature item loses said item (maybe they got disarmed via a stunt?) while injured (below new maximum health), they remain at the amount of HP they had before losing their powersource. If they regain their powersource, do they remain at their previous hp as well?
(Note that this question is far less problematic than the original "does damage carry over", as any reasonable table should be able to make a decent judgement call on it. I wouldn't be too bothered if this one wasn't taken onboard as adding relevant text to each of these instances may require an undue amount of formatting work to make fit)

Overall, very pleased with the changes I can see, amazing work!

Any idea when we might get the other characters added, such as the other Order members (mentioned pg. 128) and the Squidmen (mentioned pg. 243).

Emanation: I'd like to see it last a few minutes upon activation.
