Hi all. I would love loremaster help on ideas for combining the 2 starter sets.
I kickstarted the original starters and the core book. I also have only gotten around to reading them in the last month with the intent of playing a short series of games. I saw that there was a new starter set and couldn't help myself but to buy it ..... so now I have 2 different versions.
I think that the 2nd starter set is a much better starter set. It's got more of the rules. The adventure threads can't run cold. It introduces a better and broader range of encounters, and the extended skill tests are better constructed.
Having said this - I kind of want to play with the original starter set content too because some of the detail is very well written and very evocative. However, I don't think I'm interested (nor my players would be) in playing the hobbit themed and frankly simple adventures.
So - my question. Are there any thoughts on how (or has anyone tried before) in combining some of the adventures to be done by external adventurers? I think the first couple of adventures would need to be dropped (or you play them out literally with a dice roll to illustrate mechanics, before then handing over the real encounters).
