Questions, clarifications and errata to designers

Tue 12 Aug 2025, 15:38

Hello,

This is a thread meant for questions and possible errata around the core rules of Coriolis.

I’ll start:

Page 50
Executioner. What does rolling one extra die on a critical and choosing the results mean? Often you roll two dice (unless it is a creature).

Page 75
What does stress level relate to in zero gravity? I couldn’t find anything about this so I assumed it might only relate to the Alien RPG system as a copy pasted error. If so what is the intended rule here?

Thank you for answering questions.

Hello!

Executioner (p. 50): The extra D6 lets you alter the D66 outcome and choose which numbers to assign on the Critical Injury Table (p. 76), giving a higher probability of a lethal injury. The talent is common in many of the Year Zero games.

Zero Gravity (p. 72): You are correct; this is a phrase from the upcoming Alien and should be disregarded. The correct rule is that you spin in place, losing your move. We will update this in the next iteration of the PDF and add it as an erratum.

Hope that answers your questions :)

Thanks for the info. To clarify: I roll a d6 for tens and a d6 for singles first, then I roll another d6 which can replace any of those two? Or - do I roll 3d6 with executioner and can use two dice any which way? “choose which numbers to assign” sounds like the latter..?

You roll D66 first and then a new D6 to alter one of the numbers of the first D66 roll.

New question:
There are 5 roles. If there are 4 players no one plays the archeologist.
Is it recommended against a player character also taking that role with 4 players for balancing reasons?
From what I can tell, that role has some potential special abilities but also deals with and suffers events during delves.

Hopefully this is the right place to report a possible typo. On the Lost Horizon dark map, there is a label near the centre that says "Maruk Solar Curcuit" - should this be "Maruk’s Solar Circuit"?

Thanks

Just a quick one: Vehicle Attributes, page 74, column 2.

Cargo is described being rated in kilos when it is, in fact, Supply points.

Cheers

What is supply usage when in a shuttle or rover? I searched the book, but could not find it.

Hi! It's stated on page 204 in the rules for trekking - it applies both to on foot or in a rover:

SUPPLY
When trekking, the Explorers need supply (page 214). For each shift trekking, the crew must spend two (2) points of supply. Mishaps can trigger additional loss of supply. If the crew is larger than five Explorers, one (1) additional supply point must be spent each shift for each additional Explorer.

We decided not to count supply on a shuttle when landing or in space.
