When playing last evening, the question come up if you can block close combat attacks of an alien while you're prone. The character was prone on the floor after a Neomorph Deadly Grab attack, the hand-held fire axe dropped on his side. In the next combat round the character acted first and wanted to grab the fire-axe and block the next incoming attack. Did'nt find an explanation in the core rule book for that.
How will this handled. Attacking Alien should receive +2 against prone victims. But is the victim able to block?

I've just looked through the rules, and I can't find anything saying you can't block while prone - it only seems to affect movement and making attacks.
It's cinematic as hell, though, so I'd allow it no matter what the rules said.

The only restrictions when you are prone are that you can't make close combat attacks while prone and you can only move by crawling, which is slower. You can block close combat attacks. It is generally bad to be prone in close combat though because any close combat attacks at you is done with +2.

Without knowing the exact rule, I would definitely GM rule in favor of the PC being able to roll his Block dice in this situation! More exciting! More dramatic!
