Can I ask for folks interpretation of the Undead origin and rests. It appears from reading that they only ever have 1 hit die regardless of the level, so they may have say 80HP at x level but still only one hit die. I think there's a typo also in that the rules state that they do not heal naturally as normal on a short and long rest, well, there is never any natural healing on a short rest, only a 'free' max hit die plus CON on a long rest. On a long rest if they eat flesh they can restore the single hit die (unlike other origins who have to wait for extended rests to regain all their used hit die). Does this sound right? It seems that after a big fight at higher levels, unless they have some magic healing to hand, and say they had lost a considerable amount of hit points a short rest or long rest would severely hamper their recovery ability.
I think the "no natural healing on a SHORT or long rest" was me future-proofing, or maybe a draft where a class or feat would have allowed that; the free max HD of healing for a long rest certainly qualifies as natural healing.
Playing an undead is tough – they have some big advantages, but also big disadvantages.
