Props to give the players

Mon 10 Mar 2025, 01:08

So for the people who play with the players across the table from you, have you made, use props to hand the players?
I have rations chits from Krakow and citizenship papers for the same made up.

I mean... I bought a bunch of military surplus stuff, and some airsoft guns (I live in Sweden, so no real guns. Not that I'd have those laying about when playing RPG's if I could, anyway) and even some old soviet-era gasmasks from russia, eastern germany and poland.

I have those strewn about the place when we play to increase the "ambiance".

A couple of folks in our long-term group posted some of our stuff to the FB T2k group. Chits and maps, and an entire scientific work-up of Operation RESET in Polish for players and their characters to puzzled over and try to work out what it all means.

Det imiterer en bikkje. Det er ikke virkelig! Kom dere vekk, IDIOTER!"

Sweden recently re-issued a booklet called Om krisen eller kriget kommer (In case of crisis or war) so I ordered a couple of extra copies in English and left one in the garden for a few months to weather. I know it's not strictly period (in the the 90s it was in the back of the phone book IIRC) but my English players won't know :-) My plan is for it to be found on/near a militia prepper.

Oh I have that one, but also a bunch of old field manuals for the swedish army (SoldF) and some survival books. I keep those strewn about the place as well :)

Talking about manuals, I keep the 1994 Soldiers Manual of Common Tasks, a Ranger Handbook, a REFORGER guide, and Surviving in Serbo-Croation handy for players to reference. Otherwise, I can dig stuff out of the basement or office, if necessary.
