I’m new here, so I appologize if this has been addressed already:
Path of the Knight rank 2, can I defend from attacks aimed at the mount?

I think there is room to argue that you can, but I am hoping to hear from the community. Maybe there has been a ruling on it?

Nothing official from me but the Rank 2 in that talent is to "defend against attacks". I could definitely see this applying to the mount since the rider and mount are working as one and if the rider's mount is taken out, then we don't have a rider anymore.

Because attacks against a mounted fighter are generally directed at the mount (because aiming at the rider comes at a -1 penalty) I'd assume that the Talent includes the mount, or, from another perspective, reflects the rider's skill to make the mount evade an attack (through the reduction of the attacker's successes, up to zero). It's IMHO not dodging or a combination with another damage-evading-related skill, it's "on top" (much like the Halflings' Kin Talent) and is to emphasize the "team's" mutual tactical mobility in melee and probably works even against ranged attacks. But that's just my personal interpretation, too.
