Bloodmarch: Bestiary Missing BoB lore rolls

Sun 06 Nov 2022, 11:10

The bestiary in bloodmarch is missing the lore charts added in book of beasts.
Now I don't think this was ever intended, but it was one of the best features from book of beast.
I (and hopefully some others :) ) really hoped that would be a core feature of all monsters going forward, so if if possible it would make an amazing addition

What do the rest of you fine game masters think?

I would actually love that as well.
Also, I wouldn't mind a short description to each monster, even those with images in the books. An easy to find boxed text so I don't have to read the entire text of the beast at the table to find out how to describe it. I mean, of course I can make something up, but it would be nice to actually be able to keep it consistent when describing monsters. Variations, such as male/female monsters or regional ones could of course still be possible but would love to have a short description to each monster as to how they usually looks. Consider the image of a Pikebeast in the scenario site Hope's last rest in the Bitter reaches as opposed to the picture of the same beast in the bestiary in the same book. To me, they look quite different. I'm still not sure if it's a whale or a walrus kind of beast.

I was worried about the Book of Beasts doing this. Providing neat bonus materials for the monsters but leaving every other monster behind. I think it's something we are going to have to do ourselves.

So the beasts in Bloodmarch book don't have the lore rolls? And they didn't put an appendix in the Book of Beasts to cover those found in the GM Guide? This seems like a pretty basic design oversight. Hopefully it will be remedied before these new books go to print.
