Okay, you're talking about ALIEN DARK DESCENT, Zazeron, it's an excellent concept my friend. If you can develop your idea that would be great. With Alien Earth, we're in 2120. The revolt of the colonists of the LETHE colony takes place in 2177 but it's still Weyland-Yutani that's there like with Hadley's Hope. And, indeed they have probably already started exploring the ruins of the Xeno city. So it takes place well before the events of ALIEN DARK DESCENT.

Still digesting the latest episode, but some thoughts...

- T. Ocellus knowing pi was cool. Hyper intelligent creature.
- Still unsure as to Kirsch's motives. Is he letting all of this play out for scientific purposes?
- Don't know how I feel about Wendy being able to control/converse with the xenomorph. My gut feeling is I don't like it, but can't really say why.
- Hoping Boy Kavelier bites the dust in the finale. My guess is the T. Ocellus gets him.
- One xenomorph killing entire squads of soldiers feels a little overkill. That's been a consistent feeling for me throughout the show. It tears through soldiers/people like a hot knife through butter.

- Don't know how I feel about Wendy being able to control/converse with the xenomorph. My gut feeling is I don't like it, but can't really say why.

 
Because the unstoppable and uncontrollable cosmic horror that Xenomorphs were, suddenly, is now trainable like a good doggy with the proper whistle that belongs to yet another Disney Bossg... err, I mean, 'princess', because of course it had to be.

Disregard all previous existing lore about extinct galactic civilizations, cosmic anihilation forces, mysterious goos, or the sharpest/most evil brains from humanity trying to understand-control-weaponize these things... And all of them ultimately failing to do so... Because none of them realized that what they really needed, was the proper fringe on her haircut.

I dare to say with certain confidence, that even at only one episode left, not even the writers had yet a clear idea about Kirsh's motives.

First post in this thread regarding Alien: Earth.

My feeling is that the series are derailing gradually with each new episode (except, maybe, for the fifth). It began really well and I would score Alien: Earth with a 9 at that moment, but the new episodes are approaching dangerously to 6 or lower.

I have to praise its originality, which allows Alien: Earth to risk... And that was good in a world where taking risk in cinema or series is really strange. We have a lot of fan service (for example, Star Wars except for Andor and few more or even Romulus in the Alien universe). Sometimes I feel that we are treated as dumb when I see the same homage or references again and again.

Alien: Earth embraces the opposite and I like It... But with each now episode, It has begun to enter in a dangerous territory, breaking the Alien universe coherence. It started with small details like the Prodigy company (there wasn't any company with that name in the lore), an alien killing 5 soldiers in 5 seconds, the big five without any known company like Seegson or there is no clue of some kind of pre-dog catchers from WY... But now a robotic character can get in contact with an Alien, and that's weird and some kind of ridiculous. The same ridiculousness that I see in Kavalier... I know that he is a satire, but he is so excessive that he is simply an asshole, not a real villain.

I feel some stuffing also to reach the 8 episodes... It was necessary the 6th and 7th episodes? Why not to tell the same in one? Because the plot has not experienced any changes.

And not to mention that the series are becoming predicable... It's obvious where the Ocellus is going to end.

All in all is a good TV series but in a kind of bittersweet feeling. It began really well but it's starting to finish with a "meh".

I can't wait to watch the episode (possibly tonight). Everyone seems disturbed. Noah Hawley is definitely an unconventional guy. I have the feeling he's distorting our (much-loved) Alien universe. Maybe not a season 2 after all... we usually get news before the end to confirm season 2...

P.S. The writing team doesn't seem to proofread what they write. There are date errors, and other continuity errors. These are not the right and known companies except Weyland-Yutani. Lots of examples of bad Alien universe references.

Regarding "Wendy" able to communicate with a xeno ... that's one part I am okay with.
The writer threw in uncertainty ... she "thought" she was saying ...

But it *is* a call-back to Ash in the original ALIEN (1979) - a cut bit of dialogue from Ripley, Parker, and Lambert talking to Ash's head after the wardroom fight went a bit like this:

Ash: Well have you tried talking to it?
Ripley: Did you? What did it say?
Ash: Let me take some secrets to my grave.

And then there's an earlier ending to ALIEN where the xeno killed Ripley, sat down in the pilot seat, and dictated the final log entry *in Ripley's voice*

But yeah - episode 7 seems to have slipped over into ALIEN: Jurassic Park edition ... xeno-raptors?

I finally watched episode 7. 46 minutes isn't very long. It's the shortest episode of the series to date. I have to say my expectations were very moderate, keeping in mind the comments I read here before, but in the end, I really liked it. I have no problem with the communication link between Wendy and the Xenomoprh. It's a bit like a queen talking to her drones (like in Aliens). It remains coherent. Yeah, T.Ocellus is going to merge in Boy Kavalier, it's written in the sky. They're going to settle the story of Prodigy and the island next week and they're going to nuke the island like in Alien 1979 (there must be a nuke somewhere if it sticks to the Alien 1979 references). Season 2 will take place elsewhere...

P.S. I talked about Wendy in reference to her abilities as Ripley 8 in the first episodes, I think I was not mistaken in the end but they still haven't given any explanations on the subject. But she has xenomorph DNA inside her.

The reason I theorized about Lethe is because there are a few broken spacesuits and human skeletons in Xenocity

A friend speculated that perhaps Lethe had visitors decades before colonization

You know Hudson was right, the marines in Aliens were "Ultimate Badasses." No other soldiers seem able to kill a single xeno.
