The "Lightning strikes" encounter on p. 38 refers to p. 139 in the Referee's Manual, which does not exist.

On p. 60 the River Queen is described as having barnacles on her hull, however, barnacles are exclusive to saltwater...

Hostile Waters is packed with great material, but I think that purchasers would be even happier with it if it were to include a couple relevant new archetypes, like Urban Ops did. Perhaps something like Navy Seaman and Merchant Mariner?

Typo, page 21, description of Tugboat: "_ _ _ They can carry a substantial number of sullies or passengers." I believe it should say "supplies" there.

A lot of the water crafts on pages 20-29 have various technical equipment like different kinds of sonar, radar and countermeasures. It would be nice if these would have a description in the text and even better if there was rules for them, like modifiers to spot/stay hidden, attack/defense.

On p. 34, under the encounter Ship Cemetary,

Reads:
"None of the old rusting ships here work except the pirates’ speedboat (with half a tank of alcohol fuel) and are beyond repair, but D6 of them can be scavenged for boat spare parts."

It's not quite a double-negative, but if you remove the subordinate clause, it reads as "None of the old rusting ships here work and are beyond repair." If none of the old ships are beyond repair, that means they can all be repaired- that's the opposite of what the author intends to communicate.

Should be: "None of the old rusting ships here work, except the pirates' speedboat (with half a tank of alcohol fuel), and all are beyond repair..."
