Re: the releases of publications are going fast

Ah! Thanks, Harlath. I knew you were going to give me an intelligent explanation about this. The concept of the book is the three rings; I should have thought of that.

It's still sad to see that the Mirkwood elves aren't in the book because all the other elves are there.

I didn't remember the Mirkwood elves being in "Peoples of Wilderland." I'll look it up tonight.

Thank you so much, my friend Harlath,
Arthur.

Yeah, it's all about Lindon, Rivendell and Lorien. I believe we'll come back to Wilderland etc and Mirkwood will covered then, but might be a while - I'm confident that we'll cover Rohan and Gondor first...plus there are potentially other areas.

As for Moria - my wife doesn't enjoy that theme I'm afraid! I could do a quick delve or so, and plan to do so, but she's more interested in the lighter themes of Eriador. One of the reasons I'm keen to get Rohan and Gondor - we could spend quite a bit of time there. At the moment, we're halfway through Tales, and done a bit of Ruins.

You should have her play the TINDAILIN Elven Refuge (Ruins Of The Lost Realm page 74 to 78). I made a play report of this here. It's a really great story. You must have already done it though.

P.S. Maybe you can have her play MORIA. Give her a strong female fighter and ultimate leader. And, play the situations with more "talking" than "fighting". In any case, she might find it funny by adding several ingenious and much more cerebral elements. You could even add a little orc romance hahahah!

P.S. 2 I know what you're going through. I play ALIEN RPG with my wife. She loves monsters and I give her loads of them. I'm having trouble getting my group of players interested in THE ONE RING, though; even my wife isn't too interested in this universe.

Yeah, we did Tindailin shortly before starting Tales. It's a good one - she'll always remembering because it's the only time she's been knocked out - and she was out cold in the first round. That was a vicious ability!

She doesn't like dungeon delving all that much, which makes Moria pretty incompatible. I mean, you can make Moria anything - but it stops being Moria at some point when you take away the dungeon delve aspect. Quick jaunts, like an Adventuring Phase, are fine...but for long term, we might as well stick to Eriador. Or maybe Lorien.

What I'll probably do is, when we're ready to go to Rohan, cook up an excuse to go via Moria and have her get lost. Do a few sessions there, then bring her out the other side with some mithril for her trouble. I'm also planning on having her working for "Gandalf" who is really Saruman, so I might play on that. Perhaps he'll persuade her to go via Moria and investigate a little, see if there is a little trinket...

If you can get a hold of the 1e books, especially Horse-lords of Rohan and Oaths of the Riddermark, then maybe you could adapt them to your purposes. For Wilderland and the Woodland Realm, there are The Darkening of Mirkwood and Tales from Wilderland.

Otaku, yes, I have several books from the 1st Edition books. I saw the one about Mirkwood. I didn't remember "Tales From Wilderland". I'll check it out. For Rohan, yes, Horse-Lords of Rohan and Oaths of the Riddermark are very good.

Linklite, I understand your player's (wife's) tastes a little better. Tindailin is one of the best stories from the 2nd Edition books. She likes the outdoors. Having her work for GANDALF, but in reality it's SARUMAN, is a surprising and brilliant idea. It's a cerebral story that I like. It's really clever and twisted.
