I am actually writing an adventure with pre-generated characters. They are all soldiers and have a long experience as men at arms. Does a minimum of 3 in skills make sense to you? ANd about talents, rank 3 minimum. They will have to fight fierce adversaries. And I want them to have fun with this hack and slash adventure.

Yup. However, they will be extremely powerful will level 3 on talents.

I think lvl 2 would be a nice balance. And avoid broadswords, they are too good.

To make it interesting, give them different specializations, one is axe fighter, another sword fighter, etc.
