Thu 16 Jun 2022, 11:09

Hi!

Please use this thread to report any typos or errors in Chapter 4 (Combat & Chases) of the Early Access PDF of the BLADE RUNNER RPG Core Rulebook. Guidelines to remember:
  • Before reporting an error, please check and see if it already has been reported, and if so, don't report it again.
  • If you want to discuss or feedback something that is not a clear error, don't do it here - instead, please start a new forum post the specific issue.
Please report your feedback no later than July 1 2022. After this date, we may not be able to make any further changes.

Thank you!

The example on page 070 doesn't make full use of the rules: "Using her move to get up" and "LONG range is beyond the effective range for a Blaster" puts Jane in a worse position than she needs to be: according to page 067, "if you are prone you can stand up at the start of your move – this is a free action, but can only be done on your turn." So, Jane could use her move to get up AND move one zone towards Jarry, putting her at medium distance to him, which is then WITHIN the effective range for a Blaster, hence she could shoot without a disadvantage.

Following, page 085, "The starting range is LONG." doesn't have to be, could have been Medium, as described above.

In the "Multiple Participants" sidebar for the case rules, it says

"Only the slowest person/vehicle on each side - the one with the total die size on their Base Dice..."

I think it should say "the one with the lowest total die size on their Base Dice...."

page 078: "Use the MANEUVERABILITY rating of the vehicle instead of your AGILITY."... "instead of" doesn't make sense. Why would anyone use AGILITY as an attribute for the DRIVING roll? At no point in the rules is DRIVING associated with the AGILITY attribute. "Use the MANEUVERABILITY rating of the vehicle as the attribute die." would make more sense.

In the same direction of thought, the next sentence "When pushing DRIVING rolls, any rolled inflict stress, not damage." doesn't make sense, either, because as there was never any physical attribute associated with the driving role, there can be no damage effect. "When pushing DRIVING rolls, any rolled inflict stress." would make more sense.

Page 80 - Ramming Enemies. You can combine this with Speeding, but that requires an opposed roll. Opposed by what?

Page 80 - Armor and Critical Damage. Just for clarification, personal weapons land damage and crits just as well on vehicles as on people? Couldn't find a rule saying otherwise, but not sure if this is a clear error of omission or if it's intentional. An LAPD Spinner seems to have less health than a slightly above average human. Can someone with Strength A really kick a Spinner so hard it can explode?

page 75, critical stress effects (human) #4
"and the row could even turn violent." [emphasis mine]
is this a typo, or am i just missing the meaning or "row?"

page 78, Drowning
this may be regional or language thing, but "This roll is not an action and is made at your turn before you perform your action."
"on your turn" sounds better.
