It is eternal winter, but there is a way to end this depending on what the players do during the campaign, but this will take time so most likely not during the campaign (explained in the end of the book).

Yup. As Fenhorn says. The bitter reach is actually trapped in a magical eternal winter. Even if it's broken it's not an instantaneous switch to spring. It will take time for the glaciers that have formed to melt.

Thanks alot. So what are the consequences of acting in Darkness. I found rules for Fighting and for Leading the Way, but I found nothing about Foraging oder Setting Camp, etc.

I usually rule that for some task you need to see, but for others I use the -2. I don't use the -2 for build camp because the first thing you do when you establish a new camp is to start the fire.

So does that mean that only 1/4 of the day is light and the rest is night?

Good Question. I think i will make it that way at the start of the campaign as the players are not so mobile with only light for one quarter of the day.

I think the eternal winter just makes it cold, I think the sunlight still varies, but the magic just makes it so that the temperature doesn’t fluctuate with the hours of sun. But that’s just how I’ve ruled it. The book never says, which if they only have 6 hours of light a day, you think that it would get a mention.
