Please use this thread to report any typos or errors in Chapter 3 - Encounters in the Referee's Manual of the Beta PDF. Rules to remember:
- Before reporting an error, please check and see if it already has been reported, and if so, don't report it again.
- If you want to discuss or feedback something that is not a clear error, don't do it here - instead, please start a new forum post the specific issue.
- If you feedbacked on something in the Alpha PDF and it's not changed in the Beta, it's there by choice - we have carefully studied all of the Alpha feedback, so please do NOT feedback on the exact same thing again, unless it's a clear typo or error.
- Please report your feedback no later than May 1. After this date, we are unlikely to be able to make any further changes.

Page 36, list of stationary encounters: Last sentence in the "refugees" encounter states "the stragglers" and are the same text as in the next result in the table, named "the stragglers". Change to "the refugees" or remove.

page 51, Rumors:
An intact “Topol-M” supposedly exists somewhere out in the country. The RT-2PM2 Topol-M is a mobile ICBM
launcher. Anyone in possession of such a weapon would wield enormous power – or be able to cause untold
carnage. Any power in the area offers a reward for it, but it might be best to make it disappear once and for all.
Topol-M is a
very modern, very long range weapon. Unlike a much shorter range weapon like the Scud and derivatives, I cannot think of any justification for why this would
ever be deployed outside of Russian borders.

page 36, "Stationary Encounters" chart:
Draw an encounter normally. Only encounters marked PP are triggered
What is this PP mark? I don't remember ever seeing that anywhere.

I think it's the [campfire] symbol on the next page (page 37), but it is indeed not spelled out what "PP" means, neither is is specified whether or not the [campfire] symbol is the "PP" symbol on page 37.

Pages 41 and 44 - The Art for the 9 of Diamonds Encounter looks like its supposed to be for the 9 of Spades instead. The Pickup in the art has a DSHK on it, and none is preset in the 9 of Diamonds encounter description, but is is the 9 of Spades.

- On page 36, left column, paragraph 3, the acronym "GM" appears. This is its first appearance in the Referee's Manual, which has used "referee" exclusively to describe the role up to this point. (The only other appearance of "GM" is on page 79 in the last paragraph in the right column.)
- On page 36 under "ON-ROAD AND OFF-ROAD" in the left column, the first sentence is missing a comma after the on-road symbol.
- Starting on page 39, the page number format changes (from 38 to 039). It stays this way through the end of chapter 3 on page 53. Additionally, starting on page 39, the chapter designator at the top left and bottom right of each two-page spread shifts from "03" to "02."
- On page 39 in the pull quote titled "RECURRING ENCOUNTERS," the first sentence reads, "Sooner or later, you will draw an encounter that you have already played before." "Already played before" is redundant; you can say "already played" or "played before," but you don't need both.

FWIW, the redundancy isn't necessarily wrong. Using it does not change the meaning to the opposite like double negatives (in English), it adds emphasis (like double negatives in other languages).

- On page 49, in the right column under the ten of spades encounter, "That's an Order," the opening sentence is incomplete: "A band of stragglers from the US forces in the area." So far, all of the encounter descriptions have begun with a complete sentence (e.g. "The PCs come across a group of hunters...")
