The EMERGENCY MEDICINE talent reads:
"Ignore mental Conditions when using MEDICINE"

The conditions rule read: "While you are suffering from a Condition you get 1 fewer die for all rolls that are linked to either physical or mental attributes"

MEDICINE is linked to the physical attribute PRECISION, so any mental conditions would not affect a MEDICINE roll. Which would make this talent pointless.

What am I missing?

That is most likely an errata. Medicine was probably an Empathy skill first but was changed to Precision in the last minute or so. It should be that you can ignore physical conditions when using Medicine.
