Accessibility

How accessible will it be for new players that don't have a military background or who's only experience with military action are war movies & video games? I'm a marine veteran myself, but i don't really care about how accurate the hardware & equipment are. I just want an engaging, easy to run rpg.

I don't know, but based upon Alien, I suspect it won't be an issue...

I would not be too concerned if I were you. FL Publishing games are internally consistent and generally focus on playable realism rather than simulationist realism. Even a setting like Twilight 2000, which has a crunchy rules past, can be played fast and light. I have seen it done with Savage Worlds quite well and that is a pretty fun ruleset.
