Unnecessarily pushing rolls in less than threatening or cheap-to-recover-from situations, with the purpose of filling a character's Willpower Points meter.
Does that happen in your game? Is that a problem to you as a GM? How do you deal with that?

No, because I don't allow unnecessary pushing of skill rolls.

What's your criteria for allowing a push?

The extra successes must mean something. Also, the skill roll itself must mean something.

Ah, I see. Do you let your players push failed skill rolls often?

There is a text box about "Don't roll too often" that I really like.
If the outcome of the skill roll is part of a dramatic scene, yes. If it is a hunting roll, no, unless the group really is starving.

Indeed, I usually allow for rolls only when there's something at stake, otherwise the players just succeed whatever they are trying to do (or I let them know that what they're trying is impossible).
But then there's the Journeys part of the game, that goes against the "don't roll too often" advice.
Journeys have been the major source of WP farming in my game, so I've decided from now on to simply remove the need for these rolls and let the players succeed, unless there's significant consequences for failure, the group is at risk or there's situational penalties for that roll.
The downside to this approach is that it will let the group accumulate a lot of resources from travelling.

I agree about the journey part. We haven't played for months (due to the corona issue) but when we do play again I will use the houserule that has been discussed a lot lately on various places to not allowing pushes for journey rolls.

Let them roll for journeys. Dont let them push. Unless something is REALLY at stake there is no reason for them to push.

No pushing journey rolls, period.

Now, the mishap that results from maybe not passing the roll, that's probably a dramatic moment that has stakes enough to justify the push.
Going off what Fenhorn said, journey rolls are already different mechanically (often and routine rolls), they're easy to partition in this way. Keep pushing to moments of actual risk. Extended tasks like journeying or crafting really aren't a good fit for the mechanic.
