Going to lead Hope's Last Day shortly. Plan on expanding the Processor 9-part and the trek back to base somewhat. Probably let the players get the suspicion that their buggy's battery level was tampered with before the trip started. If they push on to the P9, a comms array/relay link/node at P9 is destroyed, preventing or hindering signaling from the base. I will probably have a stressed technician there, as suggested OP in "Trust no one". Purpose is to test skills and the rules system before getting back to the base.

During the trek back, perhaps let them get a feeling they are tracked (as prey) in the hazy rock mazes.

Any other ideas to expand the first part of the scenario?

Deal with rival wildcatters who perhaps perpetrated the sabotage to keep competitors from ...

I will prob go for that the derelict warning signal was turned off somehow after Alien.

Hm, perhaps have someone tampering with the comms array over at P9 and turning it in the direction of the derelict, trying to find the lost signal again (instead of the comm tower being able to receive and send signals between LV and other star systems). Do they fix it or let it keep scanning beyond Illum ridge?

It's funny that you are talking about that Byrax because I had the idea of expanding Hopes Last Day when ... the The Lost Worlds campaign will be done in my case ...

I did a 3 parts prequels for Alien Isolation and I'm starting my reflexion (thinking) about it (Hopes Last Day). I don't want to do the Hopes Last Hand or the Hopes Last Stand because it's Dave Semark and Matthew Tyler-Jones' work (I have too much respect for them). I know that they don't like RIVER OF PAIN and the marines things in it. So, I prefer to do something with ALIENS NEWT'S TALE. Maybe a prequel again with 1 or 2 or 3 stories (before Hopes Last Day). In this case Hopes Last Day could become the 3rd part of a trilogy (for us unrelenting fan of Alien).

I want to do something of my own and something good.

When we wrote Hope's Last Day, we actually wrote three mini - adventures, each one a bit like an act of a longer cinematic. The first Hope’s Last Hand, was when the alarm was first raised after the escape of the xeno from the med-bay. Unscrupulous roughnecks taking advantage of the lockdown to try and rob the casino. The second Hope’s Last Day was what appears in the core book (except the PCs there the union band) and in the third Hope’s Last Stand, the marshal’s militia tries to broadcast a warning out warning people not to come to the colony.

Hm, any notes or ideas regarding Processor 9 and what that is? Another Atmosphere Processing Plant seems unlikely, given the size of the one near the colony. A smaller version, not needing support personel?

When I ran Hope's Last Day, I extended it by giving each PC a couple of extra motivations, basically thing's they want to do/accomplish in Hadley's Hope on the way out. Things like, getting to their room to pick up their old service rifle or seeing to the well-being of their loved ones. That way, I gave them reasons to explore the colony and even spread out a bit. It worked quite well.

Suggestion, it would be nice to have an official version of Hopes Last Hand and Hopes Last Stand one day in PDF and book format (I was thinking of making them in a fan-unofficial version with maps and everything but those are your stories). I listened to Dave Semark's 2 podcasts game play (Hopes Last Hand & Hopes Last Stand) on YouTube and it was great.
