Hullo, folks,

For those who are here in Ottawa or are planning to come to the city the weekend of May 19th-21st, I'll be running a session of the TALES FROM THE LOOP RPG at CanGames on the Saturday night. The convention webpage is here.

http://www.cangames.ca

Here's the description of the scenario I'll be running.

Summer Break and Killer Birds
Game:  Tales From the Loop RPG
Time:  Saturday,7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Number of Players:  4
Description:  Summertime in Sweden.  Boredom and bliss in equal measure.  But something's wrong.  It all starts with a talking bird, and soon you're involved in a nefarious plot.  Can you solve the Mystery before it's too late?  Tales From the Loop is a game of roleplaying in the ‘80s that never was, based on artist Simon Stalenhag’s paintings of Swedish 1980s suburbia, populated by fantastic machines and strange beasts.  You play teenagers solving Mysteries connected to the Loop.

Hope to see some of the folks from this KS there.  Maybe even playing in the game! :)

Hullo, Jeff,
I'll definitely post a game report up once I run the scenario, but that won't be for another 2-1/2 weeks or so.
And bear in mind that this is one of the scenarios out of the TFtL main rulebook.

Ah, thought you had already run it.
Would love to hear a report nonetheless as I'm still not quite sure I have a handle on how it should run.
In fact if anyone would post an "actual play audio or video, I would love that!

Hullo, Jeff,
Nope, haven't run it yet.  Another two weeks roughly (the 20th of May, at 7:00 pm local).
While I can't give you an actual play audio or video, I can refer you to my blog entry over on LiveJournal of a quick session of character creation and a 2-1/2 hour game that I run.  Here's the link...

It's a short, very nice little adventure that I ran off the top of my head, with a few minutes to write chicken scratches about some of the plot elements that I wanted to use. :)  I'll be running a couple of more sessions of TFtL before CanGames to get more practice with it, so look for those blog entries as they happen. :)

Hullo, folks,

Just a quick reminder that CanGames 2017 starts this Friday, the 19th of May, here in Ottawa at the Rideau Curling Club.

As noted above, I'll be running a Tales From the Loop scenario at the convention on Saturday, the 20th of May at 7 pm, and so would like to encourage anyone in the area who's coming in for CanGames to possibly get into the game and play.  While the convention blurb states there are 4 seats at the table, I've actually created a fifth player characters, so the table can accommodate 5 players.

Hope to see some of you at the convention this coming weekend!   Even if you're not playing in the game, come by and say, "Hi!". :)

Well?
How did it go?
I'm running this in a week or so (first time playing or running TFTL.) so any pointers would be great.
