Beautiful. I realy like the sound of that guitar. Do you know of any artist playing this or similar? (So sorry I couldn't find this on Spotify!)

The only similar things like this I've heard are Kronos Quartet's album Floodplain (2009), which uses some exotic-sounding old instruments, and builds songs around traditional melodies from "from cultures based in areas surrounded by water and prone to catastrophic flooding,"—examples: "Ya Habibi Ta'ala" and "Tashweesh".

An Americana artist—must be good, bigger audiences in Europe than in the US —David Eugene Edwards (currently Wovenhand & formerly 16 Horsepower), but although he uses some arcane instruments (like this 1880s August Pollman Mandolin Banjo, on a song that sounds like an American Civil War tune, but isn't), his music is far more modern/rock slant. I've known DEE for 20 years, and have never seen a performance less than astounding. I got to play roadie and guard the Pollman onstage at a couple of shows some years back.

As for something as ancient as the Sumerian tune... sadly, I cannot find anything quite the same. Yet.

Wovenhand and 16 Horsepower are both big contributors to my playlist for our Western RPG soundtrack! Now when you mentioned it maybe that's the reason why I liked the gishgudi-guitarr so much.. I saw some big potiential to give our Coriolis campaign some "Bulgur Western" feel!
