I wanna know from those of you that have tried, how much "worse" is the solo version to the experience for the players?
Planning to start a game but I dont wanna use the Solo-rules if it takes too much away from the experience

Well, solo rules are solo rules. Since they are written to be used without a Referee and that can be fun in its own right. You mention "players", do you plan to use the solo rules and play with several players and skip the Referee?
Playing any game solo, means that you will, if using a pre-written scenario, that you (i.e. the solo player) will know it the story. Solo gaming in T2K works best if you using the journey- and the oracle system so you can randomize a story.

Thanks, I will try and find enough players to run it with GM

The system works fairly well with a low number of players.

When it comes to solo rules, I have only played them solo, never with x number of players without a Referee. With a low number of players it could work, but again, any pre-written scenario will be spoiled since you don't have a Referee that can GM it, but using the journal (and with that the oracle solo system) it should work ok. The stories will not be what the random card system delivers so they will not anything intricate, like a GM can do.

I've run numerous T2K solo missions. Either set in T2K or even modern times.

Even something as simple as I set myself a target "march 4 days west", then use the deck of cards to generate 1 or 2 random encounters along the way. I write up the journey, and by the end you can turn it into quite a story!

Sometimes I will have preprepared encounters I want to play out.

Theres a T2K resource on drive through rpg called "Soldiers, farms and refugees" that has some great additional notes on solo play and hundreds of extra ideas, encounters and lists. Having recommended that, I find just the core rule book is enough for me.

There is no one near me geographically, or in my circle of friends, to even consider playing this game with - I love the solo play.

That is the great thing about the internet, there are games played online. I have played in a few and run some of my own, using discord for voicechat (and possibly webcams) and foundry vtt (virtual table top) works great. There are two Twilight 2000 discords out there that post games from time to time. Same with reddit and StartPlaying Games (mostly paid games there).
