The updated book mentions GM dice difficulties, poisons and disease and doesn’t give examples. There are no benchmarks for speed. These are all basic standard things every Superhero RPG has. What is the reasoning for not including these things? At least if you are not going to include them please explain why?
I don't mean to sound negative, but, guys...come on. You're Free League. You make amazing RPGs. This is sub-par for you.

Hello, and thank you for posting.
To clarify, the text on page 83 doesn't mention GM dice difficulties, since the GM doesn’t normally assess how difficult an action is - you only roll dice in challenging situations. It says that the GM (or a specific rule or an adventure's text) can modify a roll when circumstances make the roll particularly easier or harder, so the GM can do that based on their assessment of the situation. Adventures (like Metro Mayhem in the Starter Set) will call out these modifiers when they are applicable. In general, modifiers in published adventures will stick between -3 to +3, so the GM can use that as a guideline if they're coming up with their own on the fly.
Regarding diseases and poisons, the Core Rules lay out the rules for how they work, but in-use examples of both will be included in future products where they apply in a direct context. In the meantime, the guidelines are there for the GM to create them if they're crafting their own adventures or campaigns.
And for the last thing you mention with speed "benchmarks," they are intended to be somewhat abstracted since comic stories often apply the "rules" of how fast characters move very inconsistently, but we have made an update that will be present in the final book and PDF that includes guidance for comparison on this topic.
Thanks again!
