Chemical Weapons

Fri 27 Mar 2026, 02:05

Hey folks. Trying to feel out some interesting implementations for CWs. We already have CN20 as described by the Operations Manual but it doesn't have 'the juice' I'm looking for.

I have flavor text for one of the nerve gases but I'm not entirely sure what to actually do for it, crunchwise. Here's VX-80.
A relative newcomer, this modernized nerve agent is capable of long duration aerosol deployment. Fired as a ‘curtain’, iridescent clouds of this weapon can hang for up to six hours in good conditions, though high heat or precipitation can cut this down to under thirty minutes.
The agent remains active as a rule of thumb for up to 72 hours, with cases of cool shaded areas holding active lethal concentration up to 168 hours.
Compared against CN-20...
Advanced non-persistent trinary nerve agent of Chinese origin. Vaporizes in pressures <2 bar, posing an inhalation and dermal contact hazard. Capable of defeating older filters, as it will not bind with the material.
Breakdown beyond effect range at about two to four hours. Byproducts are harmless, but potentially environmentally negative should CN-20 be deployed in heavy saturation.
Any suggestions?

Edit: Currently considering using Virulence for persistence, but not attached, or anything.

Some lore deviation has been done for the sake of variety. Currently...
VX-80 Nerve/Blood
- Virulence 12
- Causes 1 Damage per Round. Imposes a stacking -2 Strength, Agility each time it causes damage. After one Stretch, affected characters begin to Suffocate.
- Effects last until Virulence reaches zero or chemical treatment administered.

VX-80 is a contact agent, but vapors are toxic as well. The agent remains active as a rule of thumb for up to 72 hours, with cases of cool shaded areas holding active lethal concentration up to 168 hours.
CN-20 Nerve
- Virulence 10
- Causes 1 Damage per Round. -2 Strength, Agility. After one Stretch, this increases to -4.

I'm looking to make VZ a blister agent with partial nerve side effect. A bit less lethal, but much more debilitating, and some effects are permanent. At a loss as to how I differentiate VZ and GX from VX-80 and CN-20 though.
