Magic / conjuring tricks

As I am reading through the rules (revised edition PDF) to create a new character, I see that the Occultist lists among the talents (on page 29): "Magic tricks, Medium, Striking Fear"

I guess that is a typo, and that "Magic tricks" was changed into "Conjuring tricks", ref page 51.

But I still don't understand what that talent is supposed to be?

Is there any good explanation for this?

The Occultist's talents are not real magic and that was the reason the name change of the talent 'Magic Tricks' to 'Conjuring Tricks', so it is at least a little bit more clear that this is stage magic. Normally when you try to deceive someone, you use Manipulation, but an Occultist can with this talent use conjuring tricks to aid the deceit. To make someone believing in something in order to do something for you or to give you something.

The talent 'Medium' and 'Strike Fear' aren't real magic either. The 'Medium' talent for example lets you use Observation to predict a persons future by doing what fortune tellers do today, reading the clothes, the posture, what and how a person say things when you ask them questions.

Thank you. That was a very good explanation.

It makes sense that the talent was renamed. They just forgot to update the box on page 29.
