With the three basic magic traditions, the stone singers can throw rock. It might be higher than level 1 though. There are more magic traditions in the campaign books, Bitter Reach and Bloodmarch and at least in the Bitter Reach you have the Elemental magic tradition and they are more traditional when it comes to attack spell and what they can target.

Some monsters work like humanoids in combat (there is a text box about it on the specific monster page if they do) and they can be target by some more spells. Some of those humanoid monsters can still have some magic resistance (against fear for example) but the text box will say that if that applies.

This is not a game where the sorcerer attack with magic missile or fire ball every round, if you are a sorcerer and want to be a bit more allround, pick up a sword and some armour and use spells whenever you must (and can). The main reason for that monsters are immune to fear and mind magic is that their stats aren't built for that. To avoid them to be too easy to defeat, except for those monsters that fight like humanoids of course. And there are spells that affect monsters, like the stone storm and in this game it is very easy to learn new magic traditions and you also learn all the spells in that list when you do. Also, it isn't that expensive to increase to rank 2 so you can cast that spell.

Well, realy thanks for this early replay! Amazing!
I though it was something like that, is ok for me, but one of the pj in my second group chose magic for the first time and im learning the staff relly now...
In this second group i have people from d&d and shit happens :)
Im already make a list whit spells that he can use in a more traditional way, and even if they are for 2 and 3 level, like you say, is easy to reach this level.
So yeah big thanks!!!!
Pd: really amazing game this one!
