Bane Weapons and Estelang

Rules state:
A Bane weapon provides special benefits against one or more creature types.

Estelang has 'Bane of Undead and Evil Men'. Under the Deathless trait the rules explain what effect bane has on this undead trait.
I could however not find any clarification as to what effect Bane has when fighting Evil Men. None of their traits mentions Bane.

Further more under 'Deathless' it says:

Spend 1 Hate to cancel a Wound.
When an attack inflicts damage to the creature that would
cause it to go to zero Endurance, spend 1 Hate to
bring the creatures back to full Endurance instead.

This ability is ineffective against Playerheroes wield-
ing a magical weapon enchanted with spells for the
Bane of the Undead.

I presume with 'This ability...' they only refer to the second sentence. Or are Undead also unable to cancel a wound when it is inflicted to them by a Bane of Undead weapon?

Last question; Estelang removes Heartless fell ability. It makes them Craven instead and lose 1 Hate on 'Intimidate Foe'. Does this work when any hero uses 'Intimidate Foe' as long as the enemy is engaged with the bearer or only if the bearer of this weapon does 'Intimidate Foe' himself?

The Deathless trait being affected by the Bane of Undead is a special case written into those adversaries. The "default" as it were is that it boosts certain Qualities (for example, normally, Superior Grievous adds +1 to the damage rating, but if you're up against an appropriate Bane creature, then it adds your Valour instead).

Bane of Undead affecting creatures with Deathless is a special case and generally other Banes don't have an equivalent. In fact, I don't think there are any at all at the moment - but that could change with new books etc.

Thank you both for clarifying!
