Hail, seasoned adventurers of Dragonbane and beyond!

As a fledgling to the RPG world, I am preparing to embark on my first campaign in 2025. In my quest to build a war chest of tools and treasures, I’ve discovered the beauty of standees—versatile, visually striking, and an elegant way to bring the battlefield to life without the need for bulky miniatures. I’m absolutely enchanted by how they can immerse players in the adventure so effectively.

However, like any adventurer, I now face a logistical challenge: how do you store and transport your standees while keeping them organized and pristine? I’ve looked far and wide for answers but have yet to uncover the secrets of managing these wonderful companions.

How do you ensure your standees are ready to leap into action without slowing down the flow of the game? Do you use cases, folders, or something entirely unexpected? I’d love to hear your tips, clever hacks, or even tales of standee successes and mishaps to help me avoid beginner pitfalls.

Looking forward to your wisdom as I prepare to bring my world of wonder and mayhem to life! May your dice roll low, your adventures be grand, and your standees always stand tall!

I pop them back in the frame and then put a bunch of stuff in the box with the frame to keep the standees from falling out. If you have one, a document protector or comic bag can help to keep everything together if they do come loose.

Hi Paladin,

Many thanks for answering me. Yes, this is how I have currently been storing mine, although with two sets of the monsters from both the starter set and the monster standee set they do add a fair amount of bulk, carrying the frames around.

I was hoping someone might have some awesome system that reduces the footprint they have, but I’m fairly certain most people will either just be tossing them in a box or bag loose or keeping them on the frame.

I’ve been pondering the same thing and then had a flash of inspiration.

Old VHS cases are big enough to fit all the standees, except the large dragon from the Bestiary.

I’m going to mock up a case for each main type of creature along the Bestiary categories with different covers. So Dragonbane - Episode 1 The Playable Kin and so on.

The dragon can stay in the frame until the one time it ever gets used.
