Rule: From every attack swarm makes, Swarm Treat is calculated with a -1 modifier. Of Swarm Treat is reduced to zero this way, the attack is over, and the walkers move on.
How should I understand this rule? I'll give an example, please answer if I applied the rule correctly. Size of the swarm 4, threat level 4. The threat from the swarm is 8. The players gain the appropriate number of successes to win, i.e. 9, since the size of the swarm is 4 (single swarm attack and entrapment) means that its size has decreased by one level to 3. So in the next round the threat from the swarm will be 7 and AT THIS POINT WE ARE USING THE -1 MODIFIER. HAVE I ALREADY APPLIED -1 WHEN REDUCING THE SIZE OF THE SWARM FROM 4 TO 3?
Please give me an example.

Ok, taking your example, you're starting with a Size 4 Swarm at Threat Level 4 (which implies a hundred walkers are closing in on your characters...)

This sets the Swarm Threat at 8.

In the first Round, your players are going to have to get at least 8 Successes between them to Win The Round. If they succeed, you reduce the Swarm Size by 1, you'll be left with a Size 3 Swarm at Threat Level 4 for a Swarm Threat of 7 next round.

If the characters didn't get 8 Successes, they Lose The Round. This means you, as the GM, get to take ONE of three options:
1. Increase the Threat Level to 5
2. Increase the Swarm Size to 5
3. Make a Swarm Attack

If you decide to take the Swarm Attack option, at Threat Level 4 you can either make a Single Attack or use the Block option. If you choose Block all future Mobility and Stealth rolls need an extra success to succeed. If you choose Single Attack, use the Single Attack rules on p.80.

In both cases, you reduce the Threat Level by 1, so the Swarm Size is still 4 but the new Threat Level is 3, so for next round, the Swarm Threat is 7.

You basically keep repeating these steps until the players can get that Swarm Size down to 3 or less (and Win The Round).
