Magical successes

Thu 05 Sep 2024, 05:15

I'm confused.

If someone has an ability that grants a magical success, dies the player still have to roll for it, with a success being magical, or does the player get to narratively declare their magical success?

I know that it counts as a 20, if a number is needed.

Re: Magical successes

Hi, my friend.
These, as follows, are the words from Michelle Garbuggio, from the LOTRRPG team, in this subject, I just copied them from the discord : "Magical successes never require a roll: either you automatically succeed, or you cannot even attempt the action (because it's too far away in the realm of impossible). So if something is beyond the scope of magical successes (or at least, what the Loremaster considers it to be), then it simply isn't possible, regardless of whether the character can obtain a magical success or not."
Hope it helps you as much as helped me in understanding magical successes.
Now, for the other question, in my opinion it's the Loremaster who narrates what happened.
