Late feedback

Sun 05 May 2024, 09:46

I know it might be too late, but let me share:

Fts are used in Range descriptions, while meters elsewhere (I.e. Falling damaged).

A COMBAT AREA is divided into zones. Indoors, a zone is typically one room. Outdoors, a zone is any patch of land up to 100 feet across.

Falling on a hard surface automatically inflicts damage equal to the height in meters divided by two, rounded down.

Nothing critical but consistency wise I would use eighter one or both.

And one more, odd text on page 128:
Describe how the Travelers at the Stop and finds out about the Blocker.

Page 114 references rolling on an adjacent Traveler Goals table that doesn't seem to be in the book

Unfortunately the Journey-chapter seems a bit rushed and there are about 10 mistakes (too many or missing words) + the missing Goal table, already mentioned.
Luckily you don’t have to reference that chapter too much text wise, once its read. But it is a bit unusual for being Free League.

Re: Single shot and reloading in general

On page 81 under the Heading Single-Shot it says "Some firearms are marked as single-shot". No firearms are labeled single-shot.
In addition, while I get the idea of not tracking ammo because that's a pain, that means that no guns need to be reloaded except single-shot. This seems unlikely. My suggestion would be that after making a ranged attack with a non single-shot weapon, roll a d6. If the result is less than or equal to the weapon's damage, you need to Reload before you can shoot again. If you want to add more crunch, if you have an appropriate Talent, you can add the Talent value to the roll, i.e., Pistoleer adds +2 numeric value, not dice, to the roll. Thus a Pistoleer using a Handgun never runs out of ammo, which I'm fine with, as rapid reload is part of the training and a pistol is not a very powerful weapon. That's my 2 cents.
