Large Campaign Map project

Work in progress, but I thought folks using Foundry VTT be interested.

Northern Germany/Poland Maps together as single large campaign map. I had run across someone having done it for prior version. I liked the homage of using the old maps for 4th edition. Because my players are now in germany, I decided to use it as a political map, but now can't use a static map for unit references. :)

So. Found a clean map and have been working on inserting military units (country balls)

Absolutely love the idea for this project. Super cool endeavor, and so far it's looking great! In case it's helpful for unit placement, I mapped out the locations of all canon-mentioned units for 4th edition in google maps. The only one that's a bit squirrely is US V Corps (shown with yellow icons), as we know they're south, but we don't know exactly where.

Thanks. I did refer to canon plus maps as a source as well. :)

I finished up the american/nato vehicle guides, the workshop denmark source, obviously the 4th edition book. I need to double check black madonna, but I think I got those refs in. Plus the Juhlin forum orbats.

Just have the soviet side to go through, primarily the vehicle guide. As there are such a huge list of soviet divisions in poland/germany due to history difference in prior versions. I think the only units I may include are a few eastern polish border/northeast poland units that make sense given rest of the map/units and lack of official 4e coverage.

Hi there, did you draw the base map for this one? If not, where did you find it?

The base map is from the older twilight version, two maps side by side. I believe the original 1984 version had the poland map and the "going home" module had the french/germany map.

I had been using a static image someone had made (because my players were now in germany and I needed a unit position/political map, so started with that one). Plus having played the older versions, I like the homage. :)

Once I have it done, I will probably then look at doing an alternate version that uses a google map for the background. Currently been sidetracked prepping up a Coriolis adventure to run for a fellow GM this week (in order for him to get to be a player).

There are indeed a lot of differences in the Soviet OrBat between the older editions and 4e. If it's helpful, here's a listing of units in Poland from the various versions, along with the actual Soviet units in real life broken out:
