Where's the best description of Perfected?

Mon 22 Jan 2024, 23:19

I'm having a hard time grasping, conceptually, what the Perfected are, what a proto-hive is, and so on. I'm getting vaguely Borg vibes, but the descriptions in the books seem ... very nebulous, other than stats. Similarly, other than "vaguely biomechanical humanoid," I can't really figure out what they look like. The xenomorphs have the advantage of the films and books, which we've all seen (and most read), and I think the descriptions of the Perfected are feeling that lack.

I have all of the books. Am I just failing my Observation roll?

Does anybody want to take a stab at explaining the Ecology of the Perfected?

Others may have other suggestions or conclusions ... but the Perfected, to me, always came across as "pure Giger biomechanics"

Rather than Borg-ish ... do an image search for Giger's Necronomicon, set the image size to wallpaper and just scroll along.

That's how I imagine the Perfected and proto-hive ... even more of Giger's style than just the designs from ALIEN.

EDIT: I realized after I hit send you were asking for the ecology.

My watchwords for how it works: parasitic corruption ... organically spreading and merging organics and technology... with human DNA and technology as the basis, with extraterrestrial influence more or less taking over and rebuilding everyone and everything into its blended biomechanical forms like you see in Giger's art.

Giger's designs from the SPECIES movies can work here too.

look over here in this topic ... viewtopic.php?t=12239

You can be inspired by these creatures too

or do more research of you own.

And there is a psychic power or mind power to them (this part is probably my own inspiration of it).
They have a "special" communication with androids.
I'm trying to detach myself from the "BORG" inspiration (more organic than machine).
The Fulfremmen, They are the goddesses of beauty of the universe of H.R. Giger.

P.S. The Ecology, there is no limit where you can go with them (that's why the description is very nebulous), sky is the limit. it's up to you ...

Upon first reading the HoD, the Perfected instantly struck me as the game (re)introducing the source material for Alien's creature design (i.e. Giger's art -- like the "Lil" painting) back into franchise lore. It's a very clever idea, and one that makes all of Giger's nightmarish psycho-sexual hellscape imagery a viable expansion of the Alien universe.

So yeah, as was mentioned above; the Perfected are the humanoid biomechanoids found throughout Giger's art.
