One of my players had a great idea about fireworks and I thought I would pass it along.
They wanted a non-violent way of getting out of a fight with potentially hostile people - like Dunlendings or Hillmen - and wanted to ask Gandalf if he could make them something that could scare them off or distract them. I thought this was something Gandalf would fully support and I proposed that he make them these:

Time Delay Wizbang -
6" long, 1" diameter tube
ignited by striking paper - you rip off the striker and it ignites
30 second delay
Makes a loud bang

Moaning Ghost -
2" diameter, 12" tube
Has a striker paper
Makes a wailing/whistling sound on its way up
A pale blue flare descends on a parachute
Lasts 30 seconds

Super idea!

Certainly sounds like a potential Useful Item, with this application working with the Awe skill.
It is very Gandalf in nature: maybe he should be a Patron to enable this useful item ( or maybe the fireworks can come from Dale, where Erebor dwarves would sell them in the market there?)
