Cumulative Dodge modifiers?

Just a quick rules interpretation question: if you Dodge you fall prone, and attacks against prone targets are at +2. Then: you receive a +2 modifier against Slash type attacks when you Dodge them. So, if you are prone and you try to get out of the way of a Slash attack, do these modifiers (still) cancel themselves out as if you were standing? Dodging in prone position IS possible, as this Fast Action has no prerequisite (while Stand Up explicitly requires to be prone). I'd assume that the counter-cancelling works, but I'd like to hear other assessments, too.

I do think that they cancel out. As there are no rules that say that they don't?
And swinging at a target on the ground feels suboptimal, so it might in this case even be fitting.

Thank you. I also think that they are both valid and cancel each other out - but I wanted a 3rd party's assessment. ;-)
