When you’re instructed to roll an ability check (not a skill check) are you just rolling under the attribute value? Or is that intended to be under the Untrained Skill value? I am not 100% certain I’m understanding the intent.

You roll your attribute. So if you have for example a STR of 15, you gotta roll 15 or lower for a STR attribute roll.
