Gear from encounters and treasures

Hello,
we have finally started our campaign, and a couple of issues arose since the first roll of dice. One, in particular, that can be relevant for the rest of the campaign: can heroes get gear from defeated enemies to equip or sell? For instance, they defeated the first goblin ambush, and the enemies were armed with shortswords and shortbows, and wore leather armours. Can the heroes collect weapons and armours from the goblin?
Also, should I give my players treasure card in each short adventure, as mentioned on the rulebook (short adventure = 3-5 treasure cards, page 108)? Is there any way to determine if treasure is found in an encounter? I would assume that humanoids bring some coins with them, but again perhaps not...
thanks!

I rule the following in my group: They can loot gear, but such gear is either of poor quality (Durability and value is halved, rounded up), or it has become broken from the fight (Durability, page 46), unless the character was a boss. But remind them any gear not on hand takes up inventory (they don't have as much carry capacity, so they will need to decide if they want to or not. It also makes craft a bit more useful as they can fix it on the fly, rather having to haul a piece of damage metal around)

As for treasure cards, Adventures is more when they reach an adventure site (such as the Riddermound), and not for general travel. You could however if you want to be nice let them draw a treasure card and kinda say "you loot the bodies and find the following" if it makes sense (If the encounter was a creature like a manticore it might not make sense for it to carry money)

I have personally divided the deck into different categories of "wealth". So if they loot a shoddy bandit, they might find copper or silver coins and the occasional piece of jewelery, but if they loot a treasure vault they can find more valuable items.

A rule of thumb might be that used equipment can be sold for a quality of coin less. A bow that costs 10 GP might have a resale value of 10 SP.

I’m increasingly leaning away from this though. Carrying around used battered equipment to sell later, enh. I might just rule that if it’s not treasure, it’s not treasure. If a player wants to arm themselves from npc equipment though, that’s fine.

Similarly you could say a group of NPCs have 1d6 coins each, quality depending on the type of NPC.

That’s a really good idea.
