List of changes in Beta V3

Mon 06 Feb 2023, 06:01

Is there a list of the actual rule changes in the new beta (v3)? Not typos and language adjustments, but actual rule changes or additions... It would be VERY helpful to have.

This is (obviously) not a official list nor it will be detailing the exact changes but this was what me and some friends has manage to find:
  1. Dodge no longer leaves you prone
  2. Shields no longer gives boon to parry
  3. You can't swim at all in chain or plate
  4. There is a new action called Round Rest that heals 1d6 wp
  5. Stretch rest heals 1d6 wp instead of 2d6
  6. There this new thing called weakness as a optional rule
  7. They increased the quantity of trained skill (by the profession and by age)
  8. The changed the name of the bosses of typical npc's
  9. The Archmage Heroic Ability (HA) no longer exists
  10. A new HA called Magic School
  11. They changed banish to be a AOE damage instead of crowd control
  12. Lightning flash, lightning bolt, thunderbolt now can be dodged/parried and this stops the chain
  13. Purge increased damage from a d8 to a d10
  14. Breaking free from Engulfing forest no longer counts as an action
  15. Resurrections now can only be attempted once AND it removes 1 will score permanently
  16. Frost had a minor change
  17. Levitate now is rolled with bane if the target is unwilling
  18. Mental strike can be dodged/parried?
  19. The d6 from Falling damage is now half of the meters past the first 3
  20. You can now stack multiples boons and banes (e.g. with 5 boons you roll 6d20 and keep the lowest)
  21. Permanence spell also cost 1 will permanently.
  22. Free actions now specifies that you can only do one "type" of free action per turn (e.g. you can fall prone OR get up, not both)
And that is all that we could find, please if someone else saw something add to the list!

It seems with the way so many of these rules are swinging every which way that this game is less in beta and more in initial development. It seems to lack a solid "vision".

Just my opinion of course.

Applies in reverse as well...is your ranged target partially obscured and past the base range of your weapon and you have the Dazed condition? Triple bane.

I like all of these except the change to shields. Stackable boons and banes is awesome and I was going to house rule it anyway. I mean who doesn’t want to roll a 6d20 boon vs the BBEG because of a well executed plan.

I'm more or less OK with all of them, except for stacking boons and banes which I think messes up the game's simplicity for no real gameplay benefit.
If boons and banes had the intent of removing heaps of modifiers for the sake of, say, speed, we are back to square one.
Also, I see potential for game-breaking practices like boon hoarding.

Shields probably need some more work too.

Do you have any examples?
At most i see a likely critical hit, but if that is from a whole party giving up their attack to help facilitate, it is not really a massive amount of damage.

The only time boon stacking makes sense, is for attacks rolls as far as i know, but maybe i am missing something?
