Page 43, Free attack.
The following two questions emerged from playtesting using the quick start rules and are not clarified by the beta rules. Please clarify the effects in the rules.
"If you are standing within 2 meters of an enemy and then move away from that enemy," is moving within the 2 meters "zone of control" of an enemy considered "move away"? if yes, a move from one square adjacent to an enemy into an adjacent square also adjacent to the same enemy would trigger a free attack, if not, characters can run around enemies without triggering the free attack, only triggering the free attack upon finally leaving the ZOC, if they do that at all.
"the enemy immediately gets to perform an additional melee attack against you" how often does the enemy get a free attack against the same moving character, and against other characters in the same round? One attack per "move away" and again for each moving character? For all characters moving away, but only once per character moving? Only once per round?
During playtest, I ruled that every move from a ZOC square, even if it is into another square of the same ZOC, triggers a free attack, and there are no limits on free attacks for the enemy, which, by moving the enemy close to the room exit, took a hefty toll on the fleeing player group needing to pass through multiple ZOC squares to leave the room. It felt too powerful. But was it intended?
