Re: Heart of Darkness GM tips wanted

Couple of other things which might be useful in this thread -

Timelines: some people (me included) are wrestling with the overall timeline of events in HoD and have drafted timelines we are planning to use, over on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/alienrpg/comme ... _timeline/ - still work to do on those, feedback welcome.

Working Joes: HoD clearly has many influences, Alien Isolation (the computer game) being one of them. I've not yet finished playing through that, but the Working Joes from there can clearly be some of the most engaging threats that the PCs in HoD, if the GM chooses. I found this video useful for how Working Joes speak (if you're not familiar with the game), and how they can interact, threaten or offer to assist PCs. The quirkiness of them really is worth including, I think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIVgMddH66o, though this useful fansite, suggests the W-Y Davis Model correction androids are cosmetically similar but display more intelligence than Working Joes: https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/Davis_(model)

There is a list of all these stock phrases used in the game - I've stolen and adapted a few that i'll seed in conversations when they first meet and especially as things inevitably turn sour... (amending the references from APOLLO, Sevastapol and Seegson as necessary) https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/Working_Joe#Quotes

Thanks StrangecoloursFL

I'm gonna watch those (OmegaOMTV's) and (Noc Felix) I did't knew them ...

Mu/Th/ers I prefer in those podcasts (to date) are .... MuThEr Millie is really good and clear when she speaks (sometimes she has to seach some information but that's OKay) + MuThEr Dave Semark is one of the best I have watched so far (Hopes Last day here is really good : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mrCA1RiJEQ)

Enjoy your games Folks

I'm holding back on watching Hope's Last Day playthroughs as I haven't read/run it yet (and it's the most likely I will get to play in, if I ever get a session in as a player rather than GM).

I just finished reading the cinematic Heart Of Darkness. I think it's the best story that Gaska has written. A mix of Alien Isolation and Event Horizon with Sam Neill.

the characters are amazing.

What a story folks.

I agree, HoD is pretty fantastic. And I love how this story brings the wider H. R. Giger artwork-universe into the Alien (RPG) canon! The Perfected are basically Giger's numerous biomechanoid nymphs and monsters.

I know what I'm going to do after the frontier war (now after Mission 6 or after part of Mission 7). I will send all the people who know too much to hell ....

I have decided that the big boss (manipulator and behind all decisions) of General Vaughn is going to be WY.

Vaughn (WY) will send all Deep Void project execitives to system 26 draconis (Erebos station) to get rid of them (to clear the house), sorry to find a new lifeform ahahah ....

many people are going to be in hypersleep and unfortunately there will be a breakdown of the system ...

I will bring all scientists and my frontier war's characters aboard the Tambitam or the Cetorhina (I've not decided yet).

Since there is a lot of material in the Heart Of Darkness cinematic, I'm going to do a multi-episodes campaign with it and at the end the cinematic (3 acts).
