After watching the movie Irati, I'd vote for a source book on the basque region and maybe Spain. Such rich folklore, and a lot of Vaesen here.
You need to see the previous film by the author of Irati. It is a Vaesen film. ERREMENTARI: The Blacksmith and the devil. XIX century, not all tales have a happy end.
