Actually in the General category there was a thread Bicycles in the Shire triggered by Ferretz 2 years ago that focusses on the Velocipedes mentioned only in the Shire starter set. It touches on a lot of ideas that are here too.

Velocipede is from Tolkien children book... so I can see why it is there, but it does not belong to Middle Earth like Tolkien it described. IMHO, but more like inside joke to Tolkien fanatics!
