So I love deep Tolkien lore and my players do too. I'm planning to run a campaign that blends Lone Lands with parts of the Moria book as well, and the party is going to be all-dwarves.
That said, I find the origin of the hero for dwarves kind of lackluster. I am encouraging one of my players to be a Firebeard, descended from Nogrod and then Moria.
My idea is that the legendary hero (dwarven version) was a descendent of Telchar, whose master also taught Eol how to make his swords. After the fall of Gondolin Telchar or dwarves associated with Telchar who knew of the strength of Eol's swords recovered Anguirel from Maeglin's body and had it buried near Turin's grave as a way of safekeeping a powerful weapon in a place where it would ever be safe. When the Hill of Fear rose, some descendent of Telchar rose to oppose it, new from family knowledge about the location of Aguirel, and retrieved it from Tol Morwen. The rest of the sequence I think can be left as is?
Any ideas on how to improve it? I mainly just think that leading the players to the grave of Turin and then having this other sword with bits of star-iron that is NOT one of the two swords is lame, and obviously Anglachel cannot be risked moving from Turin's grave, so I want the sword to be Anguirel, and the hero will be a dwarf.
