A thought that would be very helpful as a Game Mother (but posting here on General for a broader audience):

A purchasable digital art book would be amazing.

Print would be cool too, but as I make character cards and profiles on my own, having pages and pages of digital Generic Characters (marines, corpos, space truckers, officers, enlisted, scientists etc) of different genders and ages would be GREAT to pull from for my players. Having weapons and equipment and what not in there would be fun too. I would absolutely buy this!

I know there is stuff out on the net, but so much is AI, which I dislike. I really want the beauty of the artists you have used for previous fria ligan releases.

UscssRookie, that's an excellent idea. It would be fantastic to have a Free League art book set in the Alien universe. It would be great to have sketches of several characters that we could use later. Your idea is excellent.

I don't presume to change your mind about AI-generated images. I simply want to show you (if you're not familiar with this) all the possibilities available to you. For example, with the same prompt (a phrase that explains what you want in detail), you can change the style and get pencil-drawn or pencil-style images, which is a beautiful alternative to the wonderful artwork we have from the Alien RPG designers.

Yeah for me, AI use is primarily ethical, because of the amount of power used, and over here in the States, a lot of local communities are struggling with these big Corpos (sound familiar? lol) coming in to people’s neighborhoods and building data centers, which is causing people’s electricity bills to skyrocket. Don’t want to get too political because this isn’t the forum for that, but in short I try to reuse what other people have done online whenever I can. I love the style of artwork Free League does, so I would love if they had some art files we could buy!

I respect your point of view. It's true that AI consumes a huge amount of electricity. Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to stop progressing. These tools (Chat-GPT, Copilot, etc.) will be very prevalent in business operations in the coming years. On an individual level, it will also be revolutionary.

But I respect your point of view, no problem my friend.

Oh yeah, I know it’s all coming! Its very much here and I know I am in the minority. Some of the stuff is amazing. But if I can give money to FL and get some great artwork, I’d rather do that!
