Hi all! My first post!
How do magical treasure blessings get revealed to the players? I know weapons and rewards are revealed over time as the player levels up; is that the same for items on the Magical Treasure Index? I'm about to run the LOTR 5e version if that makes a difference.
I like the idea that there's a roll anytime the players find a hoard to see if there's something magical, I'm just curious to see if other Loremasters are introducing powerful items earlier in the campaign. Also, as there is no identify item spell that I know of, I guess trial and error are the means of revealing the powers behind the item?
Thanks for your insight!

You're bringing up an excellent role-playing element, SleepingOrc. I have a player who had a Hobbit character, and she found a wonderful elven necklace at the beginning of an adventure. As the adventure progressed, the Hobbit character learned about elements or powers she had gained thanks to the necklace. At one point, she and the other members of the group wondered if the necklace was responsible for the magical actions.
So, letting the characters discover magical elements during the game is perfect for role-playing. You can also use a character's (wise guy NPC or Patrons) knowledge of an item to let the player know about it.
